Usability Week at Altice Labs
06/12/2017 Usability Week
What individualizes us is also what makes us uniform...
In 2017, the World Usability Day promoted the theme "Inclusion through User Experience". This day is marked by events that take place all over the world, organized by companies, groups and individuals.
Embracing this challenge, during the week 6th - 10th November, Altice Labs marked the World Usability Day with activities and content sharing related to this theme.
One of the main purposes of this initiative is related to the importance of inclusive design and its relevance to the full spectrum of human diversity and its differences, which are the basis for the birth of products and services with greater acceptance.
During the usability weekly, Altice Labs organized several daily activities, among which are worth mentioning:
The Quiz challenge was launched with 8 questions about Usability and Ux and the work done the usability team during the 2017 year.
Presentation of different perspectives and approaches on the topic of inclusive design, with a panel discussion composed of Margarida Almeida (UA), Jorge Ferraz (UA), Ton den Ouden (Tech4Home), Paulo Garcez (PT Foundation).
"Inclusive" documentary projection from Microsoft.
On the World Usability Day a set of practical activities dedicated to Inclusion were prepared, such as usability tests with the support of an Eye tracking and Screen reader solution. Other free activities related to the theme also took place at Future Labs.
Closing session with a video compilation projection of the main moments of the Usability week and interviews with colleagues who participated in the initiatives.
